Anyone else disappointed in the Belmont stakes? First triple crown hopeful to finish in last place at the Belmont, what a disappointment.
This just goes to show why the Triple Crown is a difficult feat to accomplish. Three races in 5 weeks at different distances is just too much to ask. While the blame game has already started, the simple answer might just be that Big Brown wasn't the horse he was hyped up to be. That thud you heard was Big Brown dropping from the history books to just being another almost Triple Crown winner.
With all that said. Big Brown delivered some great performances and is still a good horse. He just can no longer be considered one of the best.
As you can see, we have made a couple of nice enhancements the past few weeks. The most noticable is that links have started to appear for you to buy the items you are viewing. We noticed that a lot of the search queries to our site came with the word "buy" in the search term. We figured we would provide you with the services that you are telling us you want. Currently we only have links from eBay, but we are working with other sellers to get more options for you to shop with. We would like to point out that these are not general ebay links. We programatically go through all the auctions and find the auctions that match exactly what you are looking for. We do not want to be a spam site and feel that we are providing a valuable service to our users. We are accurate over 98% of the time. We hope to get that to 99.9% of the time as we refine our program. Not every item we show has links for items to buy. We believe that if we do not have the ability to generate good shopping results to you, we will not spam you with useless links, until we are confident that we can return accurate results.
The other big enchancement is that we have started to add the back story to each of the derby glasses we have. We have tested this with the 2008 and 2007 Kentucky Derbys. We have gotten a good response to it so we plan to expand this to more years. There will be a description of the race, the standings and payout along with the video of that year's Derby on the page. We feel that the combination of a picture of each glass, it's description, market price, back story and where to buy it is a powerful combination that will make the Collection Cove the place to go to when you want information dealing with collectibles.
Well, we have finally released. As you can see we are going to release early and often. There isn't much now, but with the plans we have for this site you should see many major releases over the coming weeks. We thought it best to get the site out there and let it grow slowly over time by building a strong community.
We have started with only 67 items, 1 image, 6 prices and no descriptions about any of the items. Currently we only have information for derby glasses. As they say, always start with what you know. You will get a good sense of the tastes of the people and users of Collection Cove in the coming weeks.
We plan to document all of our steps for growing the site on this blog. Not only do we want to make free information about collectibles available to the masses, we plan to have a blueprint that future entrepreneurs can use to grow their businesses.
So please check back often to see how we are doing. You may just learn how to emulate our eventual success in your own venture.
